Grand Canyon beach volleyball's
Paula Hoffmann and
Allanis Navas were named to the VolleyballMag.com All-American third team.
"Allanis and Paula are so deserving of this recognition," head coach
Kristen Rohr said. "They have a passion for beach volleyball, and they find ways to win and work so hard day in and day out. They were a huge part of our team and our success this season."
The pair collected a 21-3 overall record together, including a perfect 18-0 performance on Court 4 to make them the top No. 4 pair in the country and a recipient of the AVCA Top Flight Award.
Hoffman and Navas had victories in GCU matches against No. 1 UCLA, No. 2 Florida State, No. 3 LSU, No. 5 Loyola Marymount, No. 6 Cal Poly, No. 8 Pepperdine, No. 10 TCU and No. 10 California.
The voters included coaches Derek Olson (Cal), Rita Buck-Crocket (FIU), Kristina Hernandez (Stetson) and media members Holly Peak (Pac-12/ESPN), Mike Placek (CollegeBVB.com) and Rob Espero (VolleyballMag.com/Viral Volley Podcast).
GCU signee Abbie Hughes also received honorable mention honors for her 25-5 record at FIU last season.
