Ten of the top 18 freshmen baseball players in the WAC wear a Grand Canyon uniform according to
a ranking by Perfect Game, another testament to the program's rising recruiting profile.
GCU holds more than half of the 18 spots on the list with the conference's other nine teams combining to place two fewer players on the list.

Ryland Zaborowski (pictured) tops the rankings and leads a group of six Lopes who rank in the top eight. He is followed by
Homer Bush Jr.,
Dustin Crenshaw,
Jacob Wilson,
Daniel Garcia and
Carter Young.
Tyler Wilson,
Cade Verdusco,
Connor Markl and
Elijah Buries also appear on the list.
Though a junior now, Lopes pitcher
Pierson Ohl is the reigning WAC Freshman of the Year.
On the expansive list that features all 31 college baseball conferences, GCU is the only school to account for more than half of its conference's list among leagues with 10 or more players ranked.
GCU is
in the midst of its fall intrasquad league, dubbed Camp Canyon, where the Lopes' highly touted freshmen are making an immediate impact. Zaborowski was nominated as a Hitter of the Week candidate after going 4 for 6 over the first week of action and collecting five RBIs with a home run in a Saturday victory. Markl was a Pitcher of the Week nominee after striking out four in two innings.
