The Grand Canyon women's soccer team suffered a 2-0 loss to North Dakota on Sunday night at GCU Stadium.

The Lopes (1-6-1) were aggressive on the offensive end with 26 shots, a season high, but only four of those were on goal. Junior forward
Camryn Larson had GCU's best scoring chance of the night on a penalty kick, which was drawn by sophomore defender
Perri Belzer after she was fouled in the box. Larson's shot down the middle and into the arms of North Dakota goalkeeper Catherine Klein.

GCU also set a new season high in fouls with 19, three of which resulted in yellow cards. The coaches drew a fourth yellow card.

North Dakota (6-1-1) took the lead early in the 10th minute off a free kick from midfield that found Olivia Knox in front of the goal, where she headed it into the top of the goal. The Hawks added an insurance goal in the 80th minute on a penalty kick by Megan Wright.

Larson paced the GCU offense with seven shots, while Belzer was effective off the bench with four shots, including a potential tying one that squeaked outside the right post in the first half. Freshman forward
Ellie Busik had a similar shot that went inches past the left post.
