Teagan DeFalco was among 14 volleyball players selected to the 2019 Preseason All-WAC Team by conference coaches.
The WAC coaches also picked the GCU women's volleyball team to finish seventh in conference competition.
"We are excited to start the 2019 season," Lopes head coach
Tim Nollan said. "We have put in a lot of time in the offseason with very specific goals in mind and I can't wait for us to accomplish them."
New Mexico State was picked to lead the conference with 60 points and four first-place votes, while Kansas City's Tyrecia Lukes was named the Preseason Player of the Year. Utah Valley (three first-place votes) was second with 55 voting points, while Kansas City (two first-place votes) rounded out the top three with 52.
California Baptist and UT Rio Grande Valley were tied for fourth with 41 points apiece, while CSU Bakersfield landed in sixth with 26 votes. GCU (22), Seattle U (13) and Chicago State (10) were seventh, eighth and ninth, respectively.
A full list of the Preseason All-WAC team can be found below. DeFalco and the Lopes open the season against New Mexico on Aug. 30 at the Hampton Inn & Suites Northern Colorado Classic in Greeley, Colo.
