GCU duo receives Top Flight honor
Grand Canyon beach volleyball's Taylor Jarzombek and Esmee Priem were selected to receive the American Volleyball Coaches Association Top Flight award. The duo is part of the second annual class of award, which recognizes pairs who performed successfully within a specific flight.

The pair qualified for the award by playing at least 15 matches within a flight and winning at least 75 percent of those matches. Jarzombek, a sophomore, and Priem, a freshman, competed in 15 matches on Court 5, finishing with a 12-3 record for a .800 winning percentage. They form one of the 10 pairs to win the award on Court 5 and one of 50 pairings selected nationally.

The Lopes duo earned several noteworthy wins on Court 5 this season, including four wins over opponents ranked in the top 10. This included wins over No. 2 USC, No. 7 Cal Poly, No. 8 Florida International and No. 10 Long Beach State.
