Grand Canyon looks to turn things around in WAC play as the Lopes host a three-game series against Seattle U beginning on Thursday.
The Redhawks represented the 17th and final series victory in GCU's streak of consecutive WAC series wins, as the Lopes swept the series last season. Seattle U was GCU's first opponent in last year's WAC Tournament action with the Redhawks edging the Lopes 3-2 in a pitchers' duel.
Seattle U is looking for its first WAC series win on the year while the Lopes are trying to bounce back from a series loss to UT Rio Grande Valley.
All three games will stream live on GCU.tv.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW
- DOUBLE DOWN: GCU is No. 23 in the country with 76 doubles on the season. The Lopes are led by junior Kona Quiggle, who is tied for 11th in the country with 16 doubles.
 - BESS' BAT: Sophomore Cuba Bess has nine doubles, a triple and eight home runs for a .663 slugging percentage that ranks 35th in the country.
 - MAGIC NUMBER: GCU is 16-4 when holding its opponent to five or less runs this season.
SCOUTING
Seattle U has been on the wrong end of many close games, as 15 of the Redhawks' 26 losses have come by two or fewer runs. In the only season since 2015 that GCU did not claim the WAC regular-season title, it was won by Seattle U. The Redhawks won the 2016 WAC title with a 21-6 conference record.
The Redhawks lost two of three in a series against UNLV in the only common nonconference opponent as GCU. Seattle U has lost all four of its WAC series to Utah Valley, CSU Bakersfield, California Baptist and Sacramento State but claimed one win in each series.
Last week, Seattle U won the opener against Sacramento State but dropped the series to the Hornets. The Redhawks won the opener 4-2 before losing 9-3 and 6-2 at Bannerwood Park. The Redhawks held a 3-3 tie with No. 12 Arizona State in the early goings but fell to the Sun Devils 12-5 in midweek action.
In the programs' previous meeting, pitchers Jake Prizina and Jake Wong met in a pitchers'Â duel to open the Lopes' participation in the WAC Tournament. Seattle U claimed the 3-2 victory. The Lopes swept the Redhawks on the road in the final series of the regular season. GCU won 12-3, 5-3 and 7-5.

WHAT'S NEXT
GCU embarks on a six-game road trip, including a visit to Tucson to face Arizona on Tuesday. Then, the Lopes head east for three games at Chicago State and two at New Mexico.Â
