Grand Canyon begins a stretch of seven road games in an eight-game span with a four-game road trip that begins in Reno, Nev. on Wednesday afternoon.

The Lopes and Wolf Pack are set for a rematch of a March 6 contest that went the way of the Lopes in Phoenix. GCU won on a two-out, walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth by sophomore Brock Burton.

GCU pays a visit to Reno for the first time since 2014. In recent action against the Mountain West Conference, the Lopes have claimed four of the last five games.

Wenesday's 3 p.m. first pitch will stream live on the Mountain West Network.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW

MAGIC NUMBER: The Lopes are 10-3 this season when holding their opponent to five runs or less.
CLEAN DEFENSE: GCU is one of the nation's top defenses, having committed only 21 errors in 23 games. The Lopes' .976 fielding percentage is tied for 34th nationally. GCU has gone seven consecutive games without committing multiple errors.
MOUNTAIN WEST SUCCESS: GCU has claimed four of its last five games against the Mountain West Conference. The Lopes topped Nevada earlier this season while splitting a two-game midweek series with New Mexico and sweeping a two-game midweek series with UNLV last season.

SCOUTING

Nevada won six of its first seven games this season including an opening day victory against No. 24 Missouri State at a neutral site. The Wolf Pack have lost road conference series to San Diego State and UNLV while defeating New Mexico in a home series.

Last season, Nevada won the Mountain West Conference regular season title with a 20-9 conference record. The Wolf Pack went two-and-out in their conference tournament and missed out an NCAA Tournament participation. The Wolf Pack swept the major conference awards, as Grant Fennell was the Player of the Year, T.J. Bruce was the Coach of the Year and Joshua Zamora was the Freshman of the Year.

This week, Nevada defeated San Francisco on Tuesday, a day prior to Wednesday's game with the Lopes. The Wolf Pack are coming off a series loss in an in-state rivalry matchup at UNLV over the weekend. UNLV won the first two games by one run and three runs, respectively, before Nevada salvaged the series with a come-from-behind extra-inning win in the finale.

WHAT'S NEXT

The road trip continues with a three-game conference series at Utah Valley beginning on Friday.
