The Grand Canyon baseball team welcomes in Xavier for a rare four-game series spanning Wednesday through Saturday at Brazell Field at GCU Ballpark.
The Musketeers are continuing an eight-game swing through the Grand Canyon State, taking on Arizona State for three games last weekend. A scheduled game against Arizona was rained out on Tuesday.
GCU is amid a 12-game homestand and is looking to bounce back following a three-game sweep at the hands of Illinois last weekend.
All four games will stream live on GCU.tv.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW
- JACK IS BACK: Following an injury that has seen him go 663 days between appearances, redshirt sophomore Jack Schneider returns to GCU's starting rotation. The lefty was a key component in the Lopes' 2017 run to the WAC title, starting the final 10 series finales of the season and leading GCU to victory in all 10.
 - A BIG EAST BEGINNING: The Lopes have never played a Big East team which, in baseball, includes Creighton, Butler, Xavier, St. John's, Villanova, Georgetown and Seton Hall. St. John's won the Big East last year with a conference mark of 16-3.
 - WYNNE'S SUCCESS: Sophomore Coen Wynne has his second go-round off to a solid start. The Sydney, Australia, native is on an elite list of 10 pitchers who have thrown at least 10 innings and allowed fewer than four hits. Wynne has made eight apperarances out of the Lopes bullpen, throwing as long as 2.1 innings (which were hitless) against UC Riverside on Feb. 26.
SCOUTING
Like GCU, Xavier has opened the 2019 campaign with a tough schedule. The Musketeers opened the season at No. 7 North Carolina and have since taken on No. 8 Louisville and undefeated Arizona State.
The Musketeers program has had success this decade, qualifying for the NCAA Tournament four times since 2009. Head coach Billy O'Brien is in his second season leading the program, but he spent four seasons as an assistant coach on the Xavier staff. While he was an assistant, the Musketeers won the Big East and qualified for the NCAA Tournament in three of four seasons (2014, 2016, 2017).
