GCU faces a pair of squads from the Big Sky in their next games. On Thursday, GCU hosts Southern Utah. The Lopes will play their first road game on Tuesday when they travel to Montana.
THREE THINGS TO KNOW
- UNDEFEATED: With a season-opening win over Benedictine, GCU is 3-0 in openers under head coach Nicole Powell.
- SENIOR LEADER: Senior post Da'jah Daniel averaged 13.5 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.5 blocks in two matchups last week.
- SHOOTERS: GCU shot 47.5% from the field and 47.6% from 3-point range last week. Freshman Tavia Rowell started her career by going 6 for 12 from behind the arc.
SCOUTING
SOUTHERN UTAH is off to a 2-0 start with wins over future GCU opponents Cal State Fullerton and Utah Valley.
Defense has been the key for Southern Utah as the Lady Thunderbirds are holding opponents to 60.5 points per game and a 37.5% field goal percentage.
Rebecca Cardenas leads Southern Utah with 17.5 points per game. Madelyn Eaton comes off the bench with 13.5 points per game.
MONTANA hosts Fresno State on Friday, before hosting the Lopes on Tuesday night.
The Lady Grizzlies had no problem in their season-opening 98-45 win over Montana State Northern on Nov. 5.

- GCU suffered a 78-76 overtime loss to North Dakota on Friday in GCU Arena.
