Following its thrilling triple-overtime victory at Seattle U on Saturday, the Lopes (3-9, 1-1 WAC) return home for a pair of games on Thursday night against New Mexico State (9-5, 1-0 WAC) and Saturday against UT Rio Grande Valley (7-7, 1-0 WAC).

Scouting New Mexico State
The favorite to win the conference this season, New Mexico State is 9-5 on the season and 1-0 in WAC play. The Aggies won two consecutive games over Western Michigan and UTEP to open the 2018-19 season but then fell to Abilene Christian. NMSU then downed Northern New Mexico, Denver and Texas A&M - Corpus Christi, but fell to New Mexico twice.
The Aggies played in the FIU Holiday Tournament and split a pair of games with a win over Alcorn State and a loss to South Alabama before splitting its final two games of the nonconference season with a loss to UC Riverside and a win over UC Santa Barbara.
NMSU began conference play with a seven-point win over California Baptist on Jan. 3 and hasn't seen the hardwood since. The Aggies closed out the 2017-18 season 18-13 overall and 11-3 in conference play. After bowing out of the WAC Tournament with a 84-61 loss to Seattle U in the second round, NMSU traveled to Laramie, Wyoming, and lost to Wyoming in the first round of the WNIT.
