Three Grand Canyon track and field athletes won WAC Athlete of the Week honors for their performances at the Air Force Team Challenge near Colorado Springs, Colo.

Chris Linnin Jr., joined freshman
Adam Knuff as the program's first award winners in 2019.
Lewis won the women's Track Athlete of the Week award while Linnin won the men's Field Athlete of the Week award and Knuff won the men's Track Athlete of the Week award.
Lewis, a senior from Clarendon, Jamaica, posted the top time in the WAC for the 60-meter hurdles. Her preliminary time of 8.54 seconds earned her a spot in the finals, where she finished first at the Air Force Team Challenge. The senior also placed second in the long jump with a leap of 5.82 meters to earn the best mark in the conference this season.
Knuff, a freshman from Tempe, Ariz., leads the Lopes in the 60- and 200-meter dashes while ranking first in the WAC in the 200 and second in the 60. The freshman recorded a time of 6.83 in the 60 to place third at the Air Force Team Challenge and posted a 21.94 time in the 200 to finish sixth.
Linnin, a senior from Castle Rock, Colo., tied the school record in the high jump at 2.05 meters for the second consecutive meet. His jump earned him a third-place finish at the Air Force Team Challenge. Linnin currently ranks second in the high jump in the WAC.
The Lopes head to Albuquerque, N.M., for the New Mexico Team Challenge on Saturday, Jan. 26.
