PHOENIX – The Grand Canyon women's volleyball team has added Esmee Priem to the squad for the upcoming 2018 season. Priem hails from The Netherlands and is an outside hitter.
"Esmee brings a wealth of international experience to our team," said head coach
Tim Nollan. "She is skilled both indoor and on the beach and has a fire inside her that helps her shine bright in big moments. She is a left side attacker with a fast arm that can score points. I am very excited for the addition of her to the Lopes!"
Since 2017, Priem has been playing as an outside hitter with VV Utrecht in the top-division and second highest level in the Dutch National League. Priem has also spent time with VC Veenendaal and SV Irene.
She has also spent time playing beach volleyball, taking first place at the Dutch U 19 National Championships and the WEVZA U21 tournament (Western European Volleyball Zonal Association).
Priem will graduate high school from Het Vathorst College in June of 2018. She will receive a WVO diploma, the most difficult degree to attain, which allows her to begin her studies at any college in the country. She plans on studying Biomedical Science or Neuroscience.
