NEW ORLEANS – A well rounded team competes in the classroom and on the course and that is one thing that
Sara Slattery's cross country team did this past year. Both the men's and women's teams finished the fall semester with 3.29 GPA's and were named NCAA Division I All-Academic teams.
"I am proud of both of our teams," Slattery said. "It is not easy juggling the workload they have in the classroom and the high demands of cross country training and racing."
The cross country team finished in fifth in the WAC and 25th and 28th in the West Region Championships in their first eligible season to compete in the region championships.
The cross country athletes compete in two seasons as the cross country athletes also compete during the track and field season and are two weeks from the WAC Indoor championships which occur in Idaho at the end of February.
