PHOENIX, Ariz. – Following a sweep over Seattle with a 64-57 victory on Thursday night, the Grand Canyon women's basketball team heads to Orem, Utah to face Utah Valley on Saturday afternoon. GCU (14-12, 8-4 WAC) downed the Wolverines (10-17, 4-8 WAC) in the first meeting in January, 81-61.
Grand Canyon is currently third in the Western Athletic Conference standings with an 8-4 record. Saturday's game is one-of-two final regular season contests for GCU, as the Lopes will play at WAC-leading CSU Bakersfield on Saturday, March 3 to end the regular season.

Scouting Utah Valley
Utah Valley is 10-17 on the season and 4-8 in Western Athletic Conference play. UVU has beaten UMKC twice and Chicago State and UTRGV one time apiece.
The Wolverines started the year with a five-game losing streak after falling to Weber State, Portland, Oregon State, BYU and Eastern Washington. UVU won its first game of the season over Dixie State and went on to win a second-straight over Southern Utah.
UVU was 4-4 in the final eight games of of the non-conference season, as the Wolverines claimed wins over Air Force, Utah State, Cal Poly and Antelope Valley. Utah Valley lost to Pepperdine, Idaho State, CSU Fullerton and Denver during that span.
Last season, UVU was 9-22 overall and 3-11 in the WAC, as the Wolverines fell to GCU in both conference matchups. Utah Valley defeated third-seeded CSU Bakersfield in the first round of the WAC Tournament before falling to No. 2 Seattle U, 61-60, in the semifinal.
