PHOENIX, Ariz. – The Grand Canyon women's basketball team closes its home portion of the 2017-18 schedule on Saturday when it hosts WAC No. 1 CSU Bakersfield at 2 p.m. at the GCU Arena. Saturday's game will be GCU's Play4Kay game as well as Senior Day for the Lopes.
GCU will celebrate seven members of this year's team, including
Jessica Gajewski,
Jordan Jackson,
Katelyn Lee,
Brie Mobley,
Casey Rarrick,
August Touchard and team manager Ty Brearley. The Lopes look to upend the Roadrunners for a chance to move up from their current third-place ranking.

Scouting CSU Bakersfield
The No. 1 Roadrunners are 14-10 on the year and 8-2 in WAC play, as CSU Bakersfield has lost at New Mexico State and versus Kansas City. CSUB opened its season with a loss at UTEP and a win versus Fresno Pacific. The Runners fell at San Jose State and No. 9 Stanford before downing Cal State Fullerton and Southern Utah.
CSUB then lost three-straight to SMU, UC Riverside and South Dakota before beating Whittier College, Omaha and Boise State. The Roadrunners fell to Cal Poly and UC Irvine to close out non-conference play.
Last season, CSUB was 15-14 and 10-4 in the WAC, as the Roadrunners fell in overtime to Utah Valley in the first round of the conference tournament, 59-53.
