The Grand Canyon women's soccer team came up short to California Baptist on Sunday afternoon at GCU Stadium, where the Lancers used a second-half goal to decide the conference match, 1-0.

After nearly 63 scoreless minutes, the Lancers capitalized on a misread in the GCU defense and slotted a ball past senior goalkeeper
Abby Burton for the 1-0 lead. The Lopes were unable to bounce back despite a few offensive opportunities in the CBU box.
GCU takes to the road this week to face Chicago State on Friday and Kansas City on Sunday before returning home for the final two games of the regular season in GCU Stadium on Oct. 19 and 21.
