GCU's home baseball games will have a whole different look and feel this spring.
With a host of promotions, giveaways, in-game entertainment, and family activities scheduled, there will be a new level of fan excitement for the Lopes' first season in their new facility.
OPENING WEEKEND
Opening Weekend's three giveaway items
The season leads off with a bang over Opening Weekend as the Lopes host No. 4/7 TCU for a three-game series.
Friday, Feb. 16 will feature an inaugural season baseball giveaway to the first 4,000 fans in attendance. Fans are encouraged to be in their seat by 5:45 p.m. for a special Opening Day ceremony featuring a ceremonial pitch from alumnus Tim Salmon and a whole host of guests including GCU Baseball Alumni and GCU's Cheer, Band and Dance squads. Additionally, fans can take advantage of free hot dogs and cotton candy on Opening Night.
Game 2 on Saturday features a vintage, three-quarter sleeve baseball t-shirt giveaway to the first 250 fans in attendance.
The series finale on Sunday features a blanket giveaway, perfect for fans to make use of on the new right field berm.
FEATURED FOOD ITEMS
What's baseball without some enjoyable food nearby? Brazell Field at GCU Ballpark features two signature concession items: Thunder Nachos and Giant Purple Churros.
Thunder Nachos are a loaded boat of purple tortilla chips with house-made green chile chicken. Choose from your favorite additional toppings including nacho cheese, shredded cheese, guacamole, pico de gallo, and sour cream. This giant boat of nachos is available for just $6.
The Giant Purple Churros are exactly what they sound like, and they're available for just $2.
In addition to our two signature items, Brazell Field at GCU Ballpark features other traditional ballpark fare including hot dogs, hamburgers, peanuts, candy, soda, and more.
OTHER PROMOTIONAL EVENTS
The Lopes will celebrate their 2017 WAC Regular Season Championship on Tuesday, Feb. 20 as GCU hosts Washington State. The first 500 fans will get a commemorative WAC Champions pennant.
A series-opening matchup with Utah Valley on Friday, April 6 is Military Appreciation, where GCU will honor military groups with special t-shirts and on-field activities.
An in-state matchup against Arizona on Tuesday, April 10 will be AZ Day. The first 500 fans will take home a GCU-themed state flag as the Lopes battle the Wildcats.
SEASON-LONG PROMOTIONS
Every Saturday home game is geared towards kids! The right field patio will be a KidsZone with inflatable games and baseball-related activities. Additionally, the GCU batting cages and practice field will be open for kids 12 & under.
Sunday home games are Family Days. Bring the whole family out to the ballpark for an afternoon in the sun.
IN-GAME ENTERTAINMENT
An all-new game experience features lively music, chants, between-inning promotions, and more. Come to the ballpark for your chance to participate in games and win GCU prizes.
All night home games will now feature a 6 p.m. first pitch, a more fan-friendly start time.
