PHOENIX, Ariz. – First year head coach
Nicole Powell and the Grand Canyon women's basketball team have released the 2017-18 schedule, announced on Thursday by GCU Athletics. This season marks the first that Grand Canyon is fully Division I eligible and can compete in postseason competition.

GCU will host an exhibition with Embry-Riddle before giving way to 28 regular season games, including 14 Western Athletic Conference matchups. The Lopes will compete inside the GCU Arena in 15 contests, including the preseason scrimmage.
Rice will serve as GCU's home opener on November 10 and Duke will complete the home-and-home series with the Lopes in Phoenix on November 12.
Following the two-game home stand, GCU takes to the road to Cal Poly and UNLV. The Lopes will return home for a game against Benedictine before taking a three-game road trip to Valparaiso, FAU and Bethune-Cookman.
Long Beach State will visit the GCU Arena on December 7 before the Lopes travel to Washington and NAU to close out 2017 road play. Southern Utah and Santa Clara join GCU in the Arena on December 18 and 21, respectively.
The Lopes will host Arizona Christian for a final non-conference game on January 2. GCU will match up with all seven WAC opponents for home-and-home contests throughout January, February and March, beginning January 6 versus Seattle.
The WAC Tournament will span March 7-10 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.
