DENVER -- Grand Canyon landed at the top of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Academic All-WAC honorees for men's and women's basketball, men's and women's indoor track & field, and men's and women's swimming & diving.Â
To be eligible for this award, a student-athlete must have one academic year under their belt, a minimum 3.2 cumulative GPA and participated in at least half of their team's games.Â
According to the official conference release, of the 279 student-athletes to earn this recognition, 62 were from Grand Canyon, which is the highest number of honorees of any school in the WAC by a landslide. The closest contender is Utah Valley with 31 honorees.Â
