Lopes set to close out regular season at home

GRAND CANYON LOPES		vs.		BENEDICTINE UNIVERSITY AT MESA REDHAWKS

The Grand Canyon beach volleyball team will close out the 2016-17 season in front of their home crowd with a pair of matches back-to-back on Saturday, April 22. The Lopes will take on the Grossmont Griffins at 9 a.m. MST followed by the Benedictine Redhawks at 11 a.m. MST at the newly completed GCU Beach Volleyball Stadium.

The Lopes (15-8) are still tied for 10th in the rankings after a tough set of matches against top-ranked opponents in Tallahassee this past weekend. The squad went 1-2, showcasing their impressive victory over then No. 9 Stetson.

The Griffins (17-3-1) have had a dynamic season thus far and will be an exciting way to kick off the final stretch of matches. While the Lopes swept the Griffins 5-0 in both matches last season, GCU is looking to end the season on a high note with their first match ever against the Benedictine Redhawks (1-9-1).
