Lopes finish perfect on Senior Day

Phoenix, Arizona – The Grand Canyon Beach Volleyball team shutout Grossmont and Benedictine this morning capping off a very successful season with a record of 17-8 and finishing ranked No. 10 in the nation. In GCU's outstanding performance on Senior Day, the Lopes honored its five seniors in style asTjasa Kotnik, Leigh Stonerook, Kelli Iverson, Tyanna Roy and Rebecca Conrad enjoyed a ceremony at the conclusion of the contests.

GAME 1 | GCU 5, Grossmont 0
In the first round of pairings Hannah Towne and Emily Reinking dominated, winning the match in two sets 21-16 and 21-9. While Jessica Clark and Kelli Iverson won their match in two sets, 21-13 , 21-10, and exhibition pairing Leigh Stonerook and Anna Unnasch won their match 21-11 and 21-14. Pairings 1,2,3 then took it to the Griffins, going 3-0 across the board. Tjasa Kotnik and Molly Turner winning their match 21-15 and 21-7, Jessica Stansfield and Rebecca Conrad winning 21-12 and 21-18, and Tyanna Roy and Jordyn Sanchez winning 21-18 and 22-20.

GAME 2 | GCU 5, Benedictine 0
In their last match of the season, GCU defeated Benedictine 5-0. With all pairings defeating their opponents in two sets. In round one of the pairings Roy and Sanchez won their sets 21-12 and 21-2, Reinking and Towne won 21-9 and 21-10, and Clark and Iverson won 21-7 and 21-11. The second round of pairings kept the shutout going with Turner and Kotnik winning their sets 21-4 and 21-2, Stansfield and Conrad winning 21-11 and 21-12, and exhibition pairing Stonerook and Unnasch winning their match 21-9 and 21-11.
