RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The GCU men's volleyball team lost a tough three set match to California Baptist on Friday evening. The Lopes were defeated by scores of 25-20, 25-18, and 25-19. Grand Canyon struggled offensively for the match and falls to 4-5 for the season.
After a big win against No. 6 ranked Lewis last week, the Lopes were unable to match the same level of intensity versus the Lancers. GCU committed 17 attacking errors during the contest and struggled to keep the Lancers middles in check.

Shalev Saada during the contest. Both tallied seven kills to lead the offense.
Drake Silbernagel added five kills and three blocks.
California Baptist held a large advantage in the serving game. The Lancers recorded seven aces compared to only one for the Lopes. Cal Baptist also recorded 29 digs during the match while GCU notched 22.
The Lopes will seek a better outcome tomorrow afternoon against Concordia Irvine at 1 p.m. GCU will travel to Irvine, Calif. for the match with their future MPSF opponent.
