Scouting Bethune-Cookman
Bethune-Cookman is 3-2 on the season, as the Wildcats started the year with three-straight victories over Edward Waters (Fla.), Florida International and Prairie View A&M. Since that short win streak, the Wildcats have been winless - they fell narrowly to Southeastern Louisiana, 60-58, and to North Florida in overtime, 70-63.
The pair played in Denton, Texas during the 2013-14 season, Grand Canyon's first in Division I, and the Lopes came away with a dominant 57-45 win. GCU and Bethune-Cookman haven't met on the hardwood since.
Last season, the Wildcats were 21-11 overall and 15-1 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. Bethune-Cookman made it through two rounds of the conference tournament with victories over Savannah State and Florida A&M, but fell to Hampton in the finale. BCU earned a bid to the Women's National Invitational Tournament, but dropped its first round matchup to Wake Forest, 71-42.
