PHOENIX – The Lopes put a bow on their non-conference with a convincing win over Arizona Christian on Monday. Grand Canyon now shifts to WAC play, starting on the road for the first three games at UTRGV on Thursday, New Mexico State on Saturday and Utah Valley next week.
GCU finished its 2015-16 non-conference slate with an 8-8 record, a one-game improvement from a year ago. This was an especially impressive feat for Trent May's team considering the Lopes lost two of their top three scorers from last season (August Touchard, Casey Rarrick) due to injury.
GCU's conference schedule doesn't wait to get challenging, as they face the top two teams in the WAC this week.
