Proctor Awarded Second WAC Athlete of the Week Accolade

DENVER – Grand Canyon University cross country athlete, Samuel Proctor, was selected as the Western Athletic Conference Runner of the Week for Sept. 14-20. This marks his second time being honored with the accolade this season.
A redshirt-sophomore from South Royalton, Vt., Proctor placed fourth in the Master's College Mustang Challenge this past weekend in Santa Clarita, Calif., with a time of 25:22.93. His time bested his personal record in the 8k event by nearly three minutes. He led the Lopes to their fifth place finish and the team averaged a 45 second better pace time than last season at the same meet.
GCU will continue their season on Oct. 3 in Lawrence, Kans., at the Rim Rock Farm Classic hosted by Kansas. A full recap of the event will be available at www.gculopes.com.Â
