Natalie Tardy's selection to the All-Tournament Team who tallied 33 kills during the competition. After falling to Pittsburgh and No. 5 Nebraska 3-0, GCU played out a close match against Tulsa, but ultimately fell short 3-1 to close out the weekend.
Scouting UC RiversideUC Riverside went 2-2 over the weekend after competing at both the San Jose Invitational and the Santa Clara Invitational. They defeated both Weber State (3-1) and San Jose State (3-2) at the San Jose State Invitational before struggling against both Rutgers and Santa Clara 3-0. Alex Gresham was the leader in kills during both matches.
Scouting PortlandPortland split their opening weekend 1-1 with a 3-0 victory over Youngstown State and a 3-1 loss to Green Bay. Djurdjina Milovic picked up 76 assists between the two matches, while Emily Liger and Hannah Troutman combined for 53 kills—26 and 27, respectively.
Scouting Portland StatePortland State struggled in their opening weekend at the Northwest Challenge, hosted by Gonzaga. They faced Boise State and No. 10 Washington in 3-0 loses and earned one set in their 3-1 loss over the Bulldogs. Pati Anae led the team with 29 kills during the weekend, while Erin Clark earned 48 assists and Kylie Copple collected 31.
