Vaught Hires Ojea as Senior Associate Athletic Director for Compliance and Administration; Continues to Build Strong Leadership Team

Grand Canyon University has named Nick Ojea as its new Senior Associate Athletic Director for Compliance and Administration, as announced by Vice President of Athletics Mike Vaught.

"We continue to add superstars to our team and Nick falls into that category." said Vaught. "He is highly respected in the industry and brings extensive experience from major programs in Rutgers and Louisville."  Â
Mike Vaught continues to build an impressive leadership team in his first year at GCU. Ojea joins Jamie Boggs (Deputy Athletics Director/Senior Women's Administrator) and Jason Linders (Senior Associate Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Development) as recent senior leadership additions.
At Rutgers since August of 2011, Ojea was the Chief Compliance Officer for 24 varsity sports. Along with providing day-to-day compliance functions, he served on the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics' Executive Team and provided secondary reporting to the Office of Enterprise Risk Management, Ethics and Compliance. He serves on the NAAC Strategic Initiative Committee which is responsible for exploring issues that may affect college athletics. He is also a member of the NCAA Division I Amateurism Fact-Finding Committee.
Prior to Rutgers, Ojea served as the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance at UTEP, the Director for Compliance at the University of Louisville and Assistant Director of Compliance at Marshall University.
He graduated from State University of New York at Cortland with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management and received a Master of Science in Sport Administration at the University of Louisville.
A Bronx, New York native, Ojea and his wife, Lisa, have one daughter, Aubrey.
