Grand Canyon University junior infielder
Paul Panaccione has been named the Western Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week for April 6-12, as announced by the conference office.
It is the fourth WAC award for the team this season, with Coley Bruns, Andrew Naderer and Chad De La Guerra taking earlier honors.
Panaccione once again led the Lopes' offense, going 8-for-13 with seven RBIs and seven runs scored in the three-game sweep of Northern Colorado. He secured an extra-base hit in each of GCU's wins over the Bears and now has 17 multi-hit games and seven multi-RBI games this season.
Grand Canyon will now venture out on the road for the next 10 games. Up first will be a two-game series at New Mexico beginning on Tuesday at 5 p.m. (AZ time). The games can be found on radio at KXXT 1010 AM (also via the KXXT TuneIn Radio App), the home of Antelope men's basketball and baseball. Live stats are available at
