Trailing by nine in the second half, Grand Canyon mounted a rally to defeat Seattle 66-64 tonight at Key Arena in Seattle, Wash.
GCU improved to 13-11 overall, 4-3 in the Western Athletic Conference. Seattle dropped to 10-11, 3-4.

Seattle came out quickly in the second half and built a 50-41 lead just over six minutes into half. GCU used a 10-0 run over the next 3:34 to regain the lead and set up the frenetic finish.
Ryan Majerle, who equaled his season high with 16 points, nailed a three to put the Lopes up 63-62 with 4:32 left.
With the score tied at 64, GCU executed a perfect inbounds play from just inside half court that led to a
Daniel Alexander layup to put the Lopes back up with just over a minute on the clock. In a bit of déjà vu from last season,
Jerome Garrison blocked Isiah Umpig's layup attempt out of bounds, giving Seattle one last attempt with 1.8 left. The inbounds pass was knocked away, giving GCU the win.

The game featured 13 lead changes and 11 tied scores. Last season, the game had 15 lead changes and 18 tie scores.
Alexander finished the game with a team-high 18 points. He also led the team with seven rebounds.
The tempo was high to begin the game in a first half that saw seven lead changes. After trading baskets for first 10 minutes, the Antelopes used a 9-2 run to take a 24-19 lead with 8:02 left. The Lopes did not trail the remainder of the half and carried a 36-34 lead into the break.
Grand Canyon returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 7, when they travel to Bakersfield, Calif. to face Bakersfield. The game will tip at 8:30 p.m. (AZ time) and can be heard on radio on KXXT 1010 AM Family Values Radio (also available on the KXXT TuneIn Radio app). The game will be broadcast on television by the American Sports Network, which will be shown on Cox7 in Phoenix.
