PHOENIX – The Grand Canyon women's basketball begin a three-game weekend starting in Phoenix and ending in the state of Washington. To start the weekend, the Antelopes will face off against Oral Roberts and Western State at GCU Arena before heading out to Spokane, Wash. for the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame against Southern California.

The Lopes will play five games in nine days, beginning with Oral Roberts on Nov. 16 and ending with West Virginia on Tuesday, Nov. 24. The Nov. 19 matchup with Western State will conclude GCU's three-game home stand to start the season. Oral Roberts is coming off an 89-46 win in its season opener against Evangel. Of the nine players that saw playing time in the season opener against Hawai'i, seven players scored for the Lopes, led by
Courtney Hayes and
Dana Jones with seven points. Â

May was able to receive big scoring contributions off the bench as they scored 23 of the team's 41 points. Jones led the bench with seven points and Zelor Massaquoi scored six points in the fourth quarter. Four Antelopes made their debuts in Thursday's game against the Rainbow Wahine in
Alyx Bloom,
Julieh Clark,
Tanesha Daniels and Jones and the newcomers combined for 18 points. As a team, Grand Canyon was able to convert 13-17 free throws, shooting 76.5 percent for the game.Â

All-Time Series RecordThis will be the second time that Grand Canyon and Oral Roberts will face each other. Last season, the two schools met in Tulsa, Okla. Where the Lopes were victorious 54-51.

Scouting Oral RobertsThe Golden Eagles were able to play 11 players in their season opener against Evangel. Oral Roberts is led by sophomore Faith Ihim as she led ORU in points against Evangel, scoring 15 points. ORU lost its top-two scorers from last season in Vicky McIntyre (15.4 ppg) and Atoe Jackson (9.5 ppg) but their next two returning scoreres have filled in nicely in Ihim and Dorottya Balla averaging 8.5 points per game last season. In the preseason poll, Oral Roberts was picked to finish fourth in the Summit League, receiving one first-place vote. Â
