The Grand Canyon University men's basketball team fell to New Mexico State University, 81-57, tonight at the Pan American Center in Las Cruces, N.M.
The loss drops GCU to 14-14, 9-6 in the Western Athletic Conference. The Aggies improved to 23-9, 12-4 in the WAC.

The Antelopes struggled from the floor this evening, shooting 33.9 percent (21-62), their lowest percentage since shooting 33.3 percent in a loss on Jan. 11 at Utah Valley.
A 24-6 run over the final four minutes of the opening half and the first 4:30 of the second half pushed the Aggies lead to 50-31, sealing the win.
Jeremy Adams was a bright spot coming off the bench as the senior tied his career high with 14 points on 4-7 shooting from the floor.
Jevon Estelle came off the bench in the second half and also set a new career high with seven points.
The Aggies size advantage inside was evident as they outrebounded the Antelopes 51-31. It was the largest GCU deficit on the glass this season (previous was 16 at Utah on Nov. 21 and also Jan. 4 vs. NMSU).
Killian Larson did the work on the boards for GCU, pulling down 17 with 13 points.
Both teams struggled from the floor in the opening half, but GCU was able to grab a 15-11 with just over 10 minutes left. The Aggies put together a 12-2 run to grab a 23-17 lead and finished the half on a 10-2 run to take a 38-27 lead into the break. The 'Lopes shot 33.3 percent (10-30), compared to 39.4 percent (13-33) for the Aggies. New Mexico State owned a 27-15 advantage on the boards.
Despite the loss, GCU wrapped up sole possession of third place in the WAC by virtue of Chicago State's loss at home to Idaho. The Antelopes were picked eighth in the WAC preseason coaches poll and ninth in the media poll.
Grand Canyon will close out the 2013-14 regular season on Saturday when they travel to Edinburg, Tex. to face Texas-Pan American. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. (Arizona time).
