The Grand Canyon men's basketball team (14-13, 9-5) open their final Western Athletic Conference road trip with a contest at New Mexico State (22-9, 11-4) tonight at the Pan American Center. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. (Arizona time). A win would pull the Antelopes within one game of the Aggies for second in the conference. This marks the final regular season game for NMSU.

GAME NOTES
VS. NEW MEXICO STATE
GCU trails the all-time series against New Mexico State, dropping the first meeting this season 84-62 in Phoenix. Prior to that game, the two had not met since the 1984 season.
IN THE CONFERENCE/POSTSEASON HOPES
With Utah Valley's win over UTPA on March 1, the Wolverines clinched at least a share of the WAC regular season title, eliminating GCU's chances of also tying for the top spot. However, the Antelopes are just 1.5 games out of second behind New Mexico State and can tie the Aggies for second with two wins this week. An NMSU win over GCU coupled with a Utah Valley loss at home against Bakersfield would make those teams co-champions of the WAC. According to the WAC, there is no tiebreaking procedure for a two-way tie atop the standings, as both would be named co-champions in the event a tie takes place. GCU has already exceeded all expectations, as they were selected to finish eighth in the WAC preseason coaches' poll and ninth in the media poll. As for playing beyond the regular season, a much talked about topic, GCU is not eligible for the WAC, NCAA or NIT Tournaments. The Antelopes, however, are available for the CBI (16 teams) and CIT Tournaments (32 teams).
LAST TIME OUT
The 'Lopes defeated Chicago State, 84-74, in their regular season home finale on March 1, improving to 8-3 on the season at GCU Arena. GCU was led by Killian Larson, who matched his season-high with 31 points and also pulled down 12 rebounds for his 18
th double-double. Daniel Alexander (19), Jerome Garrison (14), and Jeremy Adams (12) also scored in double figures for the 'Lopes, who shot 46.9 percent 23-for-49) from the field.
