The Grand Canyon women's tennis team improved to 11-5 with a 7-0 sweep of Colorado State today at the Caughlin Club in Reno, NV. The win is the fifth straight for the Antelopes.
Colorado State fell to 3-7 with the loss.
The Antelopes won three singles matches today in third-set tiebreaks.
Priscilla Annoual,
Janaki Gunuganti and
Alexandra Petrzalkova all won their opening sets today, before being forced into the match tiebreaker.
Tatum Prudhomme won her match in straight sets and along with Petrzalkova, has now won six straight.
The Antelopes swept the doubles competition, highlighted by Gunuganti and
Frederique Van de Velde's 11
th-straight doubles win.
GCU as a squad has gone 28-12 overall in doubles play.
"The girls did a great job today, especially since they were bouncing back from a tough match win yesterday," said head coach Greg Prudhomme. "It was a solid weekend for us overall and we are excited to be playing at home tomorrow."
Canyon will now make the quick trip home where they will face Idaho in their only home match of the season at the Paseo Racquet Center in Glendale, Ariz. The Vandals are 12-3 this season and are playing at Northern Arizona today.
