Grand Canyon (21-8) begins play in the post season for the fourth straight year and fifth time in the last six when it takes on Boise State (17-13) in the Women's Basketball Invitational at Antelope Gymnasium tonight at 7 p.m.
GCU went to the NCAA Division II West Regional four of the last five years. The Antelopes, in their first season in Division I, finished third in the Western Athletic Conference with a 10-6 record.

GAME NOTES
WE'RE NO. 1!: Grand Canyon is the No. 1 seed in the West Region of the Women's Basketball Invitational. Eastern Michigan is the No. 1 seed in the East Region. The WBI is in its fifth year and is a 16-team two-week tournament.
THE SERIES: The WBI first-round meeting versus Boise State is the first between the two programs and GCU's first as a NCAA Division I program.
AND THE WINNER MEETS …: The winner of the GCU-Boise State WBI first-round contest will advance to the quarterfinals and take on the winner of the Stephen F. Austin-Texas State matchup. The quarterfinal game will be played either Saturday or Sunday.
ABOUT THE WBI: The Women's Basketball Invitational, in its fifth season, provides a choice for postseason worthy Division I Women's teams who wish to continue their season but who do not qualify for the NCAA tournament. The 16-team event will take place over two weeks with all games being played on campus sites. Home teams keep all revenue and travel teams get paid each trip.
POST SEASON, AGAIN: GCU is in the post season during its first season at the NCAA Division I level, but it is no newcomer to the post season. The Antelopes went to the NCAA West Regional four of its last five years in Division II. The 2010-11 team went to the Sweet 16.
LAST TIME OUT FOR THE ANTELOPES: The Antelopes extended their winning streak to four by ending the regular season with a Senior Day 77-55 win over UTPA.
