GAME NOTES
VS. CSU BAKERSFIELD
This is the first meeting between GCU and Bakersfield. The Roadrunners were chosen as the 2014 WAC preseason favorite after tying for the best in-conference record in 2013 (18-9).
THE LAST SERIES
The 'Lopes went 3-1 in their weekend series against defending Summit League champion Omaha, dropping the first game before bouncing back to win three straight. Over the final three games, GCU outscored the Mavericks 28-4, including a doubleheader sweep (9-2 and 14-0) on March 8. David Walker went 8-for-15 (.533) with six runs scored and four stolen bases in four games, while Humberto Aranda collected five hits in two starts behind the plate. Andrew Naderer, Ethan Evanko, and Coley Bruns each picked up a win, while Scott Serigstad recorded his first-career save in the series finale on March 9.
WAC WELCOME BACK
The 'Lopes are making their return to the NCAA Division I level after also serving as members of the WAC from 1995-98. During their time in the conference, GCU won the WAC North Division Championships in their final season in 1998 and had three All-Conference selections.
