Shavine Hodges has been selected as the Western Athletic Conference women's track Athlete of the Week and
Kevin Lashley has been named the men's field Athlete of the Week for Jan. 27-Feb.2, as announced by the conference office.
This is the third recognition for Hodges and second for Lashley this season.
Hodges won both the 60-meter dash (7.44 seconds) and the 200-meter dash (24.09 seconds) at the Ed Jacoby Invitational in Boise, Idaho. Hodges' time in the 200-meter dash was the fastest in the WAC this season, topping her own previous mark. She was also part of the 4x400-meter relay team which finished first with a time of 3:46.73, the best time in the WAC this season.
Lashley won the long jump at the Ed Jacoby Invitational after recording a leap of 7.20 meters. That mark is the third-best in the conference this season. Lashley also took second in the triple jump with a jump of 14.59 meters, the second-best mark in the WAC this season.
The Antelopes will be back in action this weekend when they travel to Flagstaff for a third and final time to compete in the Mountain T's Invitational. A complete recap with results can be found at
