The Grand Canyon University women's golf team finished fifth at the NM State Invitational, hosted by New Mexico State at the University Golf Course in Las Cruces, N.M. The Antelopes carded a four-over 292 in today's round to bring their 56-hole total to 11-over 875.
GCU's
Charlotte Jaengkit finished tied for first alongside Idaho's Kaitlyn Oster and Boise State's Samantha Martin at 10-under 206. The trio were four strokes ahead of BYU's Lea Garner in fourth.
Jaengkit now owns 12 of the 14 lowest 54-hole tournament totals in GCU women's golf history, with her performance at this tournament standing as the best such mark for the school.
Jaengkit led all players with a six-under on Par 4 scoring and tied for the third-most birdies with 15. She was also one of just 16 players with one or more eagles in the tournament.
It was the second top-five and third top-10 finish for Jaengkit in three tournaments this season. Jaengkit recorded two school records on the opening day of the tournament, carding a GCU low round (66) and low round versus par (-6).

"I am very proud of our team as we had our best finish so far this season," said head coach Don Powers. To finish fifth among a very strong field is great for the team. Charlotte played awesome as she earned co-champion honors."
Idaho claimed the team title after carding a 14-under 850 over three rounds of play. The Vandals finished 10 strokes ahead of Boise State in second place. Host New Mexico State finished third at four-over 868. CSU Fullerton finished in fourth at seven-over 871.
The Lopes finished with the fourth-best mark on Par 4 scoring (+28) and had the sixth-most pars with 169.
Kelcey Tate shot a two-over 74 in the final round to bring her three-day total to three-over 219. Tate finished in a tie for 20
th place and joined Jaengkit as one of only 16 individuals to collect at least one eagle.
Emily Kaye and
Kennedie Montoya finished tied for 44
th place with identical scores of 11-over 227. Montoya moved up seven spots today after carding a two-over 75 and finished tied for fifth-most with 37 pars through three rounds of play.
Deanna Salvatori tied for 61
st with a 56-hole score of 16-over 232. Salvatori carded her best round of the tournament today, a three-over 75, to move up four spots.
Competing as individuals,
Samantha Barker tied for 34
th place at eight-over 224.
Eryn Olson moved up seven spots today to finish 67
th with a total score of 18-over 234.
"Also, Kelcey played very well throughout this tournament," added Powers. "I am excited for our future with the help from our freshmen Kennedie, Samantha, and Deanna."Â
