Grand Canyon dropped to 8-12 on the season with a 3-0 non-conference loss at UTEP, Wednesday.
GCU hit .350 in the first set and led 22-19, but fell in the opener 25-23, then lost the final two sets, 25-17, 25-8.
Hayleigh Friemoth led the Antelopes with 10 kills and eight digs. She had first-set kills to give the team leads at 19-18 and 22-19.

Kaitlynn Ausmus, who finished with six on the night, gave the Antelopes a 23-21 advantage, but the Miners (12-7) scored the final four points of the set.
GCU was unable to maintain its first-set hitting accuracy and finished with a .111 percentage for the match. Junior
Mackenzie Phelps had 20 digs and three assists, while middle blocker Kristen Johannsen had four kills, a .273 average (4-1-11) and a solo block.
"I felt like we started out strong and ready to battle and we did that in the first set," said coach Kris Naber. "They stepped up their game in the second and third and, disappointingly so, we didn't."
GCU is back on the road and back to WAC play tomorrow night at New Mexico State. The match will be broadcast live on Fox Sports Arizona Plus and ESPN3. First serve is slated for 6 p.m.
"The best thing about tonight is we're back on the court tomorrow night and fix what we need to from tonight," added Naber.
