The Grand Canyon University women’s basketball team today announced the addition of Jasmine Grayson to the 2012-13 squad. Grayson previously played at Division I Cal State Fullerton.
“Jasmine is a welcomed addition to the Lopes family,” said head coach Trent May. “She is extremely athletic and brings experience and maturity to the program. She is an exciting player to watch. Jasmine can be used in many different roles because of her athleticism and versatility. She fits perfectly into our style of play.”
Grayson saw action in 48 games over two seasons at Fullerton. The 6-2 center also made three starts last season as she set career-highs with 71 rebounds, eight blocks and six steals. She also averaged 3.0 rebounds and 1.6 points during her sophomore campaign.
As a freshman in 2010-11, she averaged 1.7 points per game and 1.3 rebounds while playing in 24 games with the Titans.
Grayson was a three-sport athlete at Fairfax High School in Los Angeles, Calif. She averaged 11.4 points and 8.4 rebounds as a senior with the Lions, during which her squad earned a share of the Western League title. Grayson also averaged 11.6 points and 8.4 rebounds as her team won the Western League title her junior year. Over her final two seasons with the Lions, Grayson also collected 80 blocks.
Grayson joins Jasmine Cannon and Justine Johnson as additions to the squad for the upcoming season.
