Approaching the end of the dual season, Grand Canyon takes on Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference foes Colorado Mines and Chadron State Sunday in Chadron, Neb.
The regular season ends Wednesday in Hays, Kan., with duals against two more RMAC opponents, Nebraska-Kearney and Fort Hays State.
GCU is 16-4 in duals, just one win away from tying last year’s record 17-win season (17-4).
The Antelopes take on Mines at 3 p.m. and Chadron State at 5 p.m.
Mines comes in 2-4 in duals and 1-3 in RMAC contests. They are led by two nationally-ranked wrestlers. Steven Kelly is No. 8 at 157 and Jordan Larson is No. 8 at 165.
Chadron State is 5-7 and 2-3, and tops among those receiving votes in the National Wrestling Coaches Association poll. Duke University transfer Bret Klopp is 6-1 at 174.
GCU comes in No. 7 in the NWCA and No. 6 in the Basford Poll. Two-time All-American
Victor Carazo (174) is ranked No. 3 by Basford and No. 5 in the NWCA. He is 17-1 on the season. University of Iowa transfer
Jordan Johnson (285) is No. 3 in both polls and is 25-2 overall.
Bobby Ward (149) moved into the NWCA poll for the first time this week and is No. 5 in Basford. He is 27-5 on the season.
Kyle McCrite (125) is 28-5 and ranked No. 5 by Basford.
