GAME NOTES
VS. CHAMINADE: GCU is a perfect 14-0 against PacWest foe Chaminade. Last year, the ‘Lopes combined to defeat the Silver Swords by 71 points, as they won 68-50 on Jan. 30 in Hawai’i and 86-33 on Feb. 22 at home.
ALOHA!: The PacWest is home to four schools located in Hawai’i and overall since joining the conference, the ‘Lopes are 52-5 against those teams. Their last loss to a Hawaiian PacWest member was during the 2009-10 season (67-64 OT loss to Hawai’i Pacific on March 4, 2010).
CONFERENCE PLAY: The Antelopes finished 15-3 en route to winning their fifth PacWest title in 2011-12. Since joining the conference in 2006, the ‘Lopes have posted an 82-13 mark overall and have won 15 games four times: in 2006-07, 2007-08, 2010-11 and 2011-12.
IN THE POLLS: GCU is ranked 18

USA Today Sports/ESPN Division II Preseason Coaches’ poll (updated Dec. 4). GCU has been ranked among the top-20 teams in the USA Today/ESPN Division II Coaches Poll for 34 consecutive weeks dating back to the 2010-11 season.
LAST TIME OUT: GCU defeated Hawai’i Hilo, 71-47, in their PacWest Conference opener on Monday. The win improved the ‘Lopes to 5-0 at home as they won their fifth straight contest.
BIG ON THE BOARDS: GCU has outrebounded their opponents, 356-254, through their first seven games. Judy Jones leads the squad with 66 rebounds, averaging 8.3 rebounds per game.
JONESIN’ FOR MORE: Judy Jones has made an immediate impact on the squad, averaging a team-high 13.4 points and 8.3 rebounds per game. Jones was GCU’s leading scorer in their big 64-62 win over eighth-ranked UC San Diego on Nov. 10 in the Disney Classic and averaged 19.5 points during the GCU Thanksgiving Classic. Jones has recorded three straight double-doubles.
PACWEST STAT SPEAK: Among PacWest teams this season, GCU’s 31.8 rebounding defense ranks first, while their 12.7 rebounding margin and 72.8 free throw percentage are second and their 57.0 scoring defense, 9.9 scoring margin and 40.7 field goal percentage are third. Individually, Deanna Daniels (88.9) and Maylinn Smith (84.2) are second and third in free throw percentage, while Judy Jones is tied for sixth with a 50.0 field goal percentage.
