The Grand Canyon University men’s golf team is currently in fourth place after the first two rounds of the Interwest Insurance-Wildcat Invitational in Corning, Calif. The Antelopes shot a 9-over 585 on the Sevillano Links Corning Golf Club course.
Cal State Stanislaus leads the tournament after shooting a combined 7-over 569. Cal State Monterey Bay and Western Washington are tied for second after both posting a 576.
GCU’s
Mark Geddes is in sole possession of second place after 36-holes, recording a 5-under 139. He shot a 68 during the first round and finished with a 71 in the second round. Geddes had eight birdies and one eagle for the day.
CSU-Stanislaus’ Rob Damschen leads the tournament with a 9-under 135.
Jimmy Kozikowski was the next highest placed Antelope, carding a 3-over 147 for a 19
th-place tie overall. Teammate Duncan Bohlen was one shot behind Kozikowski and sits in a tie for 26
th.
As a team, GCU leads the field with 116 pars, while posting 23 birdies.
The final round of the Interwest Insurance-Wildcat Invitational will be played tomorrow on the Par-72 course.
