The third and final event of the USA Track & Field 2011 Indoor Visa Championship Series, the USA Indoor Championships will be televised live on Sunday from 2:30 - 4 p.m. Arizona Time on ESPN.
Sipes qualified in the 60-meter hurdles and Hill in the long jump.
"It's a wonderful opportunity for Tyler and AAron to represent Grand Canyon University on a national level," said Tom Flood, head coach of GCU's first-year men's and women's track & field teams, ranked No. 16 and No. 15, respectively, in this week's U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association poll. "It doesn't get any bigger than this for indoor track & field."
Meanwhile, junior sprinter Mikio Bain (Glendale, AZ/Raymond S. Kellis, Glendale Community College), sophomore middle-distance runner Juilio Zuniga (Mexico City, Mexico/Trevor Browne, Arizona State University) and junior middle-distance runner Chad Standifer (Scottsdale, AZ/Notre Dame Prep) from the men's team and redshirt freshman Shavine Hodges (Montego Bay, Jamaica/Mount Alvernia, Colbourne College), freshman jumper Brianne Kee (Peoria, AZ/Sunrise Mountain), sophomore jumper Amber Yingling (Peoria, AZ/Raymond S. Kellis, Northern Arizona University), junior pole vaulter Brittany Warren (Laramie, WY/Laramie Senior, Paradise Valley Community College), sophomore sprinter/jumper Lesilia Foster (Glendale, AZ/Copper Canyon, Glendale Community College), sophomore hurdler Callie Davis (Gilbert, AZ/Highland, Mesa Community College) and junior hurdler Sara Stemm (Phoenix, AZ/Pinnacle, Paradise Valley Community College) from the women's team will compete in the Run for the Dream meet tomorrow in Fresno, Calif.
"It's a chance for these athletes to stay in race shape and to either get qualified or move up in the rankings," Flood said.
The Antelopes have qualified for the 2011 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championship in 10 events -- women's long jump (Kee), men's 200 meters (Bain), women's 200 meters (Hodges), women's 60-meter dash (Hodges), men's 60-meter dash (Bain), men's 60-meter hurdles (Sipes), men's long jump (Hill); women's 400-meter dash (junior Precious Amukamara; Glendale, AZ/Apollo, Glendale Community College), women's pole vault women's long jump (Warren) and women's triple jump (Yingling).
Hodges won the women's 60-meter dash in a personal best 7.38 seconds in the Lumberjack Invitational last Saturday at the Walkup Skydome in Flagstaff. It was the last of three consecutive meets GCU has had on the Northern Arizona University campus and the second-to-last chance it had to add qualifiers for the Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships, which will be held March 11-12 at the Albuquerque Convention Center.
Tomorrow's meet in Fresno will be its last chance.
Hodges is ranked No. 1 nationally in the women's 60-meter dash and women's 200-meter dash, and Kee is ranked No. 10 in the women's long jump.
Sipes and Hill are No. 3 in the men's 60-meter hurdles and men's long jump, respectively, and Bain is No. 6 in the men's 60-meter dash and No. 7 in the men's 200-meter dash.
