Grand Canyon (14-6, 8-4) won its sixth in a row with a 3-0 Pacific West Conference victory over visiting Chaminade (2-14, 1-9) at Antelope Gymnasium Monday.
The ’Lopes won by set scores of 25-21, 25-16, 25-21.
Named the PacWest Player of the Week Monday, senior middle hitter
Stephanie McBride picked up where she left off with match-highs in kills (13) and block assists (4) and sharing match-highs in service aces (2). McBride also had a team-best .545 hitting percentage with only one error in 22 attempts.
GCU hit .289 as a team.
Senior
Brooke Blomenkamp had eight kills and three block assists. Sophomore
Caelen Hiller had seven kills and 11 digs. Junior outside hitter
Janae Giles and freshman libero
Mackenzie Phelps each had 12 digs and two service aces. Junior setter
Kristen Preach had 34 assists and six kills. Junior middle hitter
Shelby Taylor also had six kills.

GCU was coming off a 5-0 road trip to northern California, which wrapped up Saturday at Notre Dame de Namur in Belmont, Calif.
“I’m very pleased how we performed under the circumstances of being on the road for nine days and just having one day off before going back at it,” said GCU coach Kris Naber. “I thought Stephanie did a great job. She was a dominating factor.”
