The visitors for Tuesday night's women's volleyball match don't have far to come.
Grand Canyon welcomes Southwestern Bible College for a 6 p.m. contest at Antelope Gymnasium.
The Phoenix school, members of the NAIA and the National Christian College Athletic Association, is located on East Cactus Road, only a 20-plus mile drive away. The two programs have played annually since 2006.
GCU leads the series 5-0 and have won all matches by 3-0 scores. Last year was the first year of a home-and-home series. The previous three matches were played at Southwestern.
The Eagles come in 5-5 on the season, while the Antelopes (2-7) are hopeful to stop a four-game slide.
It's the first of two home matches this week. GCU will play host to Embry-Riddle Friday.
This week's matches are the last of the pre-Pacific West Conference portion of the schedule. GCU opens PacWest play Sept. 21 at Notre Dame de Namur.
Three GCU players are among the PacWest stat leaders. Junior libero Laurann Durbin (Phoenix, AZ, Sunnyslope) is ranked second in digs at 5.09 per set. Sophomore middle hitter Shelby Taylor (Phoenix, AZ, Christian) is No. 3 in blocks at 1.03 and sophomore setter Kristen Preach (Phoenix, AZ, Xavier Prep) ranks No. 9 in assists at 7.42 per contest.
