COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Grand Canyon dropped a 3-0 decision to Fort Lewis in the Marriott Mountain Lion Invitational at Gallogly Center on the campus of the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs Friday.
GCU (2-5) lost by set scores of 25-17, 25-19, 25-21.
Sophomore setter Kristen Preach (Phoenix, AZ, Xavier Prep) had six kills, a .667 hitting percentage, 13 assists, eight digs and three block assists. Junior Stephanie McBride (Newbury Park, CA, Newbury Park) had five kills and five block assists.
Sophomore Shelby Taylor (Phoenix, AZ, Christian) added five kills and junior libero Laurann Durbin (Phoenix, AZ, Sunnyslope) had 12 digs.
GCU will have two more matches Saturday, taking on Winona State at 10:30 a.m. Phoenix time and host Colorado-Colorado Springs at 6 p.m.
Grand Canyon will return home and play Southwestern Bible College 6 p.m. Tuesday at Antelope Gymnasium.
