The GCU women's tennis team brought its winning streak to three on the road in San Francisco yesterday. It earned its second conference win of the trip by defeating Academy of Arts by a score of 7-2.
At the No. 2 position, the 'Lopes' Haldeman won 7-5 in the third set against Botshoma, who she lost to last year.GCU's Vergnet won a second-set tiebreaker to beat Pham at the No. 1 position. We always have tough battles with Arts, so it was a very good win for us to be able to get them 7-2.
The girls showed strong doubles play today with their 3-0 sweep.
After playing Academy of Arts, the Lady Tennis 'Lopes crossed the Bay Bridge to play Mills College. They kept the momentum going with a convincing 8-1 win. They swept the doubles for a second time in the day. Ali Brackey and Mandy Prudhomme didn't lose a game in doubles all day with two 8-0 wins.
The GCU womens team is now 8-10 on the season.
