Lady Lopes headed to Seattle for NCAA West Region

With the completion of the regular season, the Grand Canyon women's basketball team now knows it will be headed to Seattle for the NCAA West Region.
Seattle Pacific (21-2) clinched the top seed and homecourt with a win Saturday. Grand Canyon (16-11), the No. 8 seed, will play Seattle Pacific 7:30 p.m. Friday in the last of four quarterfinal games.
GCU qualified for the tournament by winning the Pacific West Conference title. It is the first trip to the NCAAs since 2004.
In other Friday games, No. 2 Alaska Anchorage (23-3) takes on No. 7 Northwest Nazarene (15-9). No. 3 UC San Diego (25-4) meets No. 6 Cal State Dominguez Hills (19-8) and No. 4 Humboldt State (21-7) goes up against No. 5 Western Washington (17-8).
Semifinal games are schedule for 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday. The championship is slated for Monday, March 16 at 7 p.m.
