TUCSON -- Grand Canyon University's cross country teams competed at the Dave Murray Invitational at Dell Urich Golf Course Friday. It was the team's final preparation prior to the Oct. 4 GCU Invitational.

Nursing some injuries, neither the men or women had enough runners for a team score. Three runners competed for each squad.

Leading the men was freshman Nick Cross. He finished 81st with a time of 23:46.84 for the 6K race. Sophomore Andrew Zappala finished 86th at 25:28.80 and junior Luke Larm was 89th with a time of 27:19.09.

Junior Arlin Guadian led the women with a time of 17:40.72 for the 4K run. Sophomore Alyssa Adams finished in 18:36.19 to place 55th. Frosh Evelia Stacey had a time of 19:00.41 to place 58th.

Brandon Bathke of Arizona State won the men's race in 18:29.30 leading the Sun Devils to victory. Ali Kielty led the ASU women to victory clocking in at 13:39.62.
