Coming off two impressive wins in the GCU Tip-Off Classic, Grand Canyon University's women's basketball team moved up in the
USA Today ESPN Division II Top 25 Coaches' Poll, released Tuesday.
After an 89-44 victory over Queens College and 93-67 triumph over Southern Indiana, which received more votes than GCU last week, the Antelopes moved up to a tie for the 28th spot.
GCU went from receiving six votes to receiving 49.
Grand Canyon is 4-1 on the season with its only loss coming to No. 11 Alaska-Anchorage.
GCU is being led by senior guard
Samantha Murphy (Phoenix, AZ, Xavier Prep), who is averaging 29.2 points per game and recently went over the 1,500-point mark for her career.

Grand Canyon will play host to the GCU Thanksgiving Classic Friday and Saturday. It will take on Lake Superior State (3-1) and CSU Dominguez Hills (0-2) Friday and Saturday, respectively. Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m. each night.
